  2. Select Browse and the Open screen displays.
  3. Navigate to the location you wish to save the file and in File Name enter a name for your file.
Training Tip - The file extension name is .VisSrch. You can select an existing .VisSrch file to add further searches to a batch already prepared.
  4. Select Open to create the file.
  5. Now from either:
    • Ad-hoc Search and Reporting List - Right click on the search and select Export, or drag and drop into the Search export and import section, or
    • Export From the Batch Folder List - Drag a batch folder from the Batch section of the Search and Reports screen and drop it into the Search export and import section.
Training Tip - You can also drag and drop individual searches from the batch folder.
  6. Your searches are now included in the .VisSrch file and can be shared and imported elsewhere.
Note - You must completed your export before deleting, copying or moving this file.

Points to consider when exporting batch folders:

  • When you export batch searches which contain searches with corresponding group inputs and outputs, you must ensure that the search with the output file is ordered before the search containing the input file.
  • To reorder a search list, open the batch folder and drag and drop the searches into the preferred order.
  • Searches can be duplicated within batch folders only, you cannot have duplicate ad-hoc searches in your export file.
  • Batch folder names can be duplicated in the Search and Reports module, however, you cannot export batch files with the same name, even if they do contain different searches, in the same export file. If you do attempt to add a duplicate batch folder, a warning displays offering you the chance to rename, or overwrite the existing batch in the export import pane.
  • Batches can contain other types of reports as well as ad hoc searches, you are warned that these reports are not included for export.
